Marvin has not taken the traditional path to becoming an attorney. He grew up in Corpus Christi in a blue-collar family swinging hammers and twisting wrenches. He would become a mechanic before enlisting the U.S. Army where he served as a medical equipment technician.
Upon his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Marvin would quickly return to South Texas. He started his college career at Del Mar College, then went to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. From there, he moved to Houston to study law at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, an HBCU.
Upon completion of law school and passing the Texas Bar Exam, Marvin returned to South Texas, where he went to work for a local law firm. He practiced civil law, probate, wills, and estate planning and had an extensive criminal law caseload. He would move on to be the managing partner of the firm. Private practice allowed Marvin to follow his passion for criminal law and hone his skills.
This passion compelled Marvin to join the Crossroads Defenders. He will use the skills he has acquired as an attorney, soldier, and blue-collar worker as a foundation to fight for his clients. Marvin will faithfully continue the battle to ensure that the law treats everyone equally, regardless of income or status.
