Crossroads Defenders is a team of lawyers, investigators, social workers, and advocates serving the poor in four South Texas counties. We believe good defense work is good for everyone. It keeps the system honest. It protects the innocent. It holds the government accountable. And it treats every person who walks through our door as someone worth fighting for.
We represent people who cannot afford a lawyer. While we fight their case, we are also working on the rest of their life. Housing, mental health, employment, the things that matter beyond the verdict and many times the things that brought someone to a courtroom in the first place. We are building something here, and we know it.

Crossroads Defenders is building something rare: a public defender's office that treats trial craft as a discipline, invests in its people, and fights without apology for those who need it most. We're looking for attorneys who are hungry to try cases, think creatively, and become leaders in both the courtroom and in the community. New lawyers and seasoned advocates are both welcome here.
