Kenedy Douglas is a dedicated Assistant Defender at CxD where she represents individuals facing some of the most challenging and overwhelming moments of their lives. She is committed to protecting her clients’ rights and ensuring that every person receives zealous, compassionate advocacy, regardless of the amount of money they have.

Kenedy’s path to criminal defense began long before law school. She spent three years working as a legal assistant at a criminal defense firm in Amarillo, Texas, where she developed a strong foundation in the justice system and a passion for advocating for the accused.

She earned her undergraduate degree from West Texas A&M University, where she double-majored in Psychology and Sociology. During her time there, she was selected as one of thirteen students for the McNair Scholars Program. Through this program, she conducted an extensive research project on wrongful convictions and the death penalty, an experience that continues to shape her perspective, feed her passion, and drive her work.

Kenedy went on to earn her law degree from the University of Oklahoma, where she actively developed her advocacy skills through both competitive and hands-on experiences. She competed on the arbitration team, participated in negotiation competitions, was involved in moot court, and gained practical experience representing clients through the Criminal Defense Clinic. These opportunities strengthened her courtroom presence and reinforced her commitment to client-centered representation.

Kenedy is also a graduate of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association’s Tim Evans Trial College and was selected to attend the Future Indigent Defense Leaders program, both highly respected programs focused on developing advanced trial skills and leadership in indigent defense. She remains committed to continual growth as a trial lawyer and advocate.

Kenedy approaches every case with diligence, empathy, and determination. She understands that behind every case is a person whose future is at stake, and she works tirelessly to guide her clients through the legal process with clarity and confidence.
